I would like to know if it is possible to make Blu-Tack hard, as I have made some sculptures and would like to keep them. I have been sculpting with the Tack for 10 years give or take and these are the only sculptures I have ever wanted to keep. Your help would be appreciated :)
HI Mysterious blogger cnf,
I will consult with my fellow boffins and perhaps conduct an experiment or two to find an answer to your question. Alternatively, I’ll look it up in the Big Blu Manual and get back to you.
OK, having consulted with my fellow boffins, the simple answer is no! Naturally, you’ll want more information than that, so here goes… Blu-Tack will only go hard if it’s dried out by taking the oils out - and why would you want to do that. You could coat it in something like an epoxy resin, nail polish or varnish. This would give a shiny effect - but that would go yellow over time. Our conclusion is leave your models as they are - and just be careful with them. Simples!
Hi cnf,
You can make Blu-Tack go hard by coating your models with varnish, it really works, I tried it on one of mu own models and it worked like a charm!!!
