Hi,
Can you help?
A colleague at work has a daughter at university. She rented a room for this year and paid £150 bond for any damage caused to the room.
She has vacated the room and cleaned it thoroughly, but the university are claiming the £150 because they say the Blu-Tack she has used on her walls has left marks and so they have to have the room re-decorated.
Any ideas for removing the oily marks it has left on the painted walls?
As you can imagine, having to pay £150 just for using Blu-Tack on the walls is hitting hard.
Many Thanks
Margaret Thomas
Hi Margaret,
We would suggest that you use either White Spirit or Lighter fluid. The best method is to apply one of these solutions with a cloth, then with the same cloth you need to dab it for a few minutes. With a dry cloth, again dab the surface and this should remove the Blu-Tack residue mark.
We trust that this helps.

Boffin
