Blu-Tack as an art medium is uncluttered, unlike many other media, by predetermined values. Its simple blueness is a blank canvas on which art can be shaped and moulded ith impunity. If you can imagine it, Blu-Tack can make it - though of course we refer only to creative works; anyone imagining they could build a small nuclear reactor out of Blu-Tack would surely be disappointed by its ability not to contain radioactivlty in the slightest. But we digress; in Big Ears we see a startling new direction in the use of this fascinating medium: namely its bility to hold, and indeed be enhanced by, th use of coloured paints andd dyes. In Big Ears, therefore, a simply-worked form is transmuted from blob of Blu-Tack with long ears to an almost living creature of the woods. Art made virtual life indeed.
Since we are about as cheap as art galleries get, we want YOUR art on our walls. So send us some.
If you have made a model out of Blu-Tack®; flattened some out and made nice shapes (bless), produced a little animated video made of Blu-Tack® men or are in the process of constructing a full-size scale model of the Vatican or Empire State Building, send us a picture of it.
Got a YouTube site with Blu-Tack® features? Send us a link! We love to link!
